$Loving your clothes starts with getting to know them - literally. Take a few minutes to feel the material, read the label, learn about their origin, how the stitching works, how long or short look on you. How they make you feel? Have they changed with time? In what way? We invest so much money buying the latest trends only to discover that these clothes are made with flimsy fabric and skimpy stitching that falls apart the minute you get it home! Here are a few things we can do to change this today: 1. Buying smarter. This means choosing clothes that are better made, and that will be a breeze to care for. 2. Maybe you don’t need to buy at all – you could hire or swap instead. 3. Buying pre-loved clothes. This is a fabulous way of getting a new look for a fraction of the High Street prices. And vintage clothes mean you can be both chic and unique, as they often use colours and fabrics that you just can’t find in stores today. 3. Falling in love with the clothes we already have. This will helps us save money AND the environment from textile pollution at the same time. Did you know? - Clothes can take up to 40 years to decompose. - Shoes can take up to 1,000 years to break down. - Up to 95% of the textiles that are land filled each year could be recycled! Think before you buy. Buy less, buy better.
