Impact

Through my work and my lifestyle I support at least 5 out of the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development that world leaders agreed back in 2015. These goals have the power to end poverty, fight inequality and address the urgency of climate change. Guided by the goals, it is now up to all of us, governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to work together to build a better future for everyone. We collectively should achieve these goals by 2030. In my business and personal life I work towards achieving the following five: Goal number 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere. Goal number 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture. Goal Number 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. Goal Number 13: To protect and restore life on land and Goal number 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

I support the charity Big Issue Foundation, I donate to charities what I don’t use. I am a volunteer for the local food bank. (Trussell Trust)
As a vegan I have reduced the impact that the meat production industry has on the environment. I volunteer for my local food bank. I strive to not waste food by storing it properly and cooking only what I will consume. I buy seasonal food from the local farmers.
I support my local businesses. I volunteer my time for the local food bank (Trussell Trust). I say no to plastic and excess packaging. I buy second hand whenever possible.I choose reusable products. I advocate for corporate responsibility and I join petitions and campaigns. I use my social media channels to call out businesses with unsustainable practices.
I live a conscious life with less waste and consumption. I recycle paper, glass, plastic, metal and old electronics. I compost because composting food scraps can reduce climate impact while also recycling nutrients. I choose reusable products over #singleuse. I buy second hand & I make sure that when I buy new the products are produced in an eco-friendly way. I work from home which is powered by Green Star Energy, an energy supplier rather than a generator which supply 100% renewable electricity to my home (compared to the UK average of 33%). Their renewable electricity is fully certified by the Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin certificates (REGOs) . I consume a plant based diet. I am dedicated to spreading the word about how to live a more environmentally friendly life.
Being a vegan means that I don’t buy products tested on animals or use animal byproducts. I recycle and compost. I have switched to receiving electronic statements and receipts. To reduce the paper use (less trees cutting), I have registered with the Mailing Preference Service (MPS) so that I won’t receive junk mail. I help to clean my local parks and green areas. I do not use chemicals in my home. I respect the environment and the animals.
